We are looking for a full time Compliance Officer who is a team player that can also work independently. The Compliance Officer ensures the safety and compliance of assets under his/her responsibility in accordance with multiple governing bodies such as (but not limited to) The Traffic Safety Act, FMCSA, International Registration Plan, SGI Carrier Compliance, and SGI Insurance.

Regular Duties:
- Record Keeping - Verifies, audits, and keep detailed records of :
- Driver and vehicle files;
- Shipping documentation;
- Hours of service/ log books;
- Daily inspections and regular vehicle maintenance;
- Loads and dimensions;
- Infractions and accidents;
- Insurance claims;
- Other related records.
- Creating, arranging for and maintaining appropriate vehicle signage and binder documentation;
- Ensuring the respect and management of the drivers' hours of service and vehicle maintenance;
- Ensuring the respect and management of the various applicable laws;
- Ensuring that drivers receive follow-ups on awareness, coaching, training and disciplinary notices;
- Data Entry & Auditing
- All other related tasks & assistance where required.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to accurately record information;
- Ability to listen effectively, clarify information as needed, and convey information in a clear and concise manner;
- Ability to manage priorities according to emergencies and in a fast paced and changing environment;
- Ability to influence positivity, mindfulness and uphold customer service standards with a calm and respectful demeanor;
- Great rigor in terms of follow-up communication and confidentiality;
- Knowledge of Hours of Service in Canada and the USA;
- Geographical knowledge of Canada and USA;
- Several years of clerical, operational or administrative experience related to freight traffic are preferred;
- Intermediate Knowledge of Computers, Email Functions, Microsoft Operating System & Products, Google Products & Services;
- Completion of secondary school is required;
- Minimum 1yr experience in the trucking industry;
- Knowledgeable of applicable transportation safety and compliance rules, laws and regulations;
